Tonight, Ms. Shelley will read us, Goodbye, Friend! Hello, Friend!, by Cori Doerrfeld.

In this book we learn that every goodbye brings a new beginning. Sometimes goodbyes are especially hard, and sometimes new beginnings take time, but tomorrow always comes. This book helps us transition through all the moments that life brings us, both big and small.

In scripture, I find hope. Psalm 30:4-5 says, “Sing praises to the Lord, O you his faithful ones and give thanks to his name. For his anger is but for a moment; his favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may linger for the night, but joy comes with the morning.”

During this time of uncertainty, we may find ourselves weeping for what we have lost- cancelled activities, postponed vacations, distance from the ones we love. We may find it challenging to think about the future, to think past this current situation in which we find ourselves but, there is still hope. Hope is found in the flowers that continue to bloom. Hope is found in each breath that fills our lungs. Hope is found in the risen Christ!

For every beginning there is an ending but for every ending there is a new beginning. Keep your faith, my friends because although there may be weeping……joy shall follow!
