COLDEST NIGHT OF THE YEAR

WALK TO END HOMELESSNESS

On Saturday evening, February 25, 2023, Fredericksburg Baptist Church and other community churches and organizations will be participating in a nationwide event entitled COLDEST NIGHT OF THE YEAR.

COLDEST NIGHT OF THE YEAR is a  family-friendly walk to raise money for Micah Ecumenical Ministries so it can continue to serve people experiencing hurt, hunger, and homelessness. The walk will begin at Hurkamp Park and end at the same location with a "soup kitchen" meal provided by Foode + Mercantile. Check in is at 4pm. Walk starts at 5pm.  You can choose to walk either a 5K course or a 2K course around downtown Fredericksburg.

Micah’s goal is to raise $59,000 .  Why $59,000?  This is Micah’s symbolic goal, to tell the story of Micah’s planned Jeremiah Community, a supportive community of small homes for our neighbors.  We estimate $59,000 as a rough amount for the materials to build one of the small h9mes in the community when it comes to fruition.

You can support Fredericksburg Baptist Church’s Team in several ways.  First, you can sign up to walk on Fredericksburg Baptist Church’s team and join members of our church family on Saturday night February 25th.  Second, if you don’t want to walk, you can donate to the FBC Team or support individual members of the Church’s team.

Please help support the Fredericksburg Baptist Church’s team by either walking and raising funds.  To donate or join our time CLICK HERE!  This will take you right to our team’s home page.

If you are interested in learning more about the Coldest Night of the Year program, you can go to www.cnoy.com.  You can then select LOCATION and then select Fredericksburg, Virginia.  This web page has lots of information about the event.  You can see all the other teams that are participating as well as our own team.

Please do what you can to help Micah achieve its goal and realize our dream for a community where no one must live outside.
