Tonight, Mr. David will read us, The Teddy Bear by David McPhail. In this story we hear the story of a little boy who misplaces his bear. The little boy longs for his bear and eventually finds him, but only after the bear has become the companion of another. The story ends with the boy demonstrating compassion for another human and sacrificing his beloved stuffed friend for a man he didn’t even know.
During Holy Week we remember the sacrifice of Jesus. Sometimes we can feel far removed from this sacrifice, and yet, we know that we are in desperate need of this saving grace. This week, may we remember Jesus’ act of love and practice loving the world around us- offering grace and mercy in this time of anxiety and discomfort.
